Order-processing platform at scale

We maintain and continuously evolve a production order-processing platform for Optamark, built on event-driven Spring Boot microservices and Apache Kafka for reliable, real-time processing.

The challenge

Order processing has to be both reliable and real-time. A tightly-coupled or monolithic design makes every change risky and every traffic spike a threat to throughput.

Event-driven by design

Spring Boot microservices communicate through Kafka topics, so each stage — validation, enrichment, fulfilment, notification — scales and fails independently. Events give a durable, replayable record of every order, which makes recovery and auditing straightforward.

A two-year-plus partnership

This is an ongoing engagement, not a one-off build. The same senior engineers own reliability, add capabilities and modernise the platform continuously — which is why the relationship has renewed year after year.

Reliability practices

Idempotent consumers, dead-letter handling, end-to-end observability and zero-downtime deploys keep processing correct under load and make change safe.

Outcomes

  • Client-reported ~90% faster processing versus the prior workflow.
  • Reliable, real-time order processing on an event-driven backbone.
  • A 2+ year, continuously-renewed partnership.

Figures are client-reported or from internal benchmarks and are illustrative of typical results, not independently audited.
